What our predictions concluded and our tests confirmed is that hovering cars will only be more efficient on long stretches of flat or almost flat road without stops. Therefore, we decided to instead use calculations on our wheeled car data to compensate. ![]() We also attempted to make a miniature magnetic car as well, but with the materials that we had access to, the car would not float reliably. ![]() Second, we created a miniature version of a wheeled car and used live tests to see if our predictions could accurately be used to draw conclusions. First, we used known physics equations to predict how hovering off of the ground would affect efficiency. The question that this project has tried to answer is whether or not the same technology would increase the efficiency of cars in the same manner. A good modern example of these advances in action is that of the trains using maglev (magnetic levitation) technology to travel much more efficiently than traditional trains.
